Class, consisting of a round medal constructed of silver, with a horizontally oriented oval fixed loop for suspension from its period original tri fold ribbon, the obverse with a leftward facing effigy of Franz Joseph I, circumscribed Franz Joseph I Kaiser von Oesterreich in capital letters, the reverse inscribed Der Tapferkeit (For Bravery) within a laurel
