1903 Print Ancient Chaldaea Tomb Faudin-Gudin Middle East Roof Structure XHA3 Botanical & Floral Oliver TwistThis is an original 1903 halftone print set (two single sided pages, one measuring at 3. 25" by 2. 5", and the other at 4. 75" by 2. 75") of a traditional Chaldaean tomb. Due to the unique terrain around the plains of the Euphrates, it was impractical to produce such structures as pyramids, mastabs, or rock cut tombs. The alluvial Chaldaean soil was not condusive to preserving bodies, but rather decomposing them. As a result, tombs such as this one
