1907 Print Vittore Carpaccio Madonna Christ Renaissance Reading Costume XAG8 CC1 "industry's most modern and versatileThis is an original 1907 halftone print of a piece by Venetian Renaissance artist Vittore Carpaccio (c. 1465 1525), who is best known his conservative, large scale detachable wall paintings, which were not as humanistic in nature as the work of his other Italian contemporaries. In this composition, rather than produce a conventional Madonna, Carpaccio preferred to portray her simply as a reverent mother watching over his small boy. CONDITION This 104+
